Grand Cayman mystery predator

This afternoon I took a drive around the east end of Grand Cayman, up through Frank Sound, and around the north side back to The Reef. Once on the north side, right where the speed limit changes from 30 to 50, I noticed this bird perched along the roadway and was intrigued. I pulled over and managed to get a few shots before it got tired of posing for paparazzi and left me. This bird was about the size of a grackle. [EDIT: This bird was identified as a female Merlin. The Merlin is a fairly common winter visitor and passage migrant.]
