With rain clouds looming, Jack and I decided to take a quick trip around the pond. It was really gorgeous! We didn't see all that much but we had a great time. The black-crowned night herons are back! One at the lake Friday and now one here. :-)

There were several hermit thrushes, and this one seemed happy to have a few pictures taken.

This red-belly was drumming and calling at this popular woodpecker tree. I wonder if they will try to nest there. I hope so!
